Famalicão has appointed João Fontão as Technical Coordinator of the women's football department. The 34-year-old has been linked to FC Famalicão for the past eight seasons and will work with all the women's teams at the club. The new Technical Coordinator found in Guimarães “a very professional structure and spectacular conditions for the development of senior athletes and formation”. “Vitória has the best formation teams at the national level and this good work will make many of our athletes also reach our senior team, to become a reference in the Liga BPI”, he said. João Fontão admitted that “Vitória is a name that is appealing to everyone” and that it was easy to accept this challenge. “It's a club with very own values with which I identify very much and surely I'm here to defend them too. I'm a person who values very much personal relationships and a good symbiosis between all the professionals of the club can contribute to the development of the players”, he said in his first statements. João Fontão will be assisted by Cristiana Teixeira, a 28-year-old coach who was working with the formation teams of FS Metta/LU, of Latvia, and will have, also, his first experience with the King's crest.
