Famalicão has just announced that the Municipality will sponsor the senior futsal and women's football teams of Futebol Clube de Famalicão. This sponsorship will last for three sports seasons, until 2029, with the name of Famalicão appearing on the teams' jerseys. The futsal team competes in the national first division, while the women's team plays in the second division, both enjoying significant national visibility. In the latest City Council meeting, a financial support of €750,000 was approved for the next three seasons. Of this amount, €150,000 will be allocated for works at the FC Famalicão Academy, while the remainder will be used for sponsorship and support for the development of various youth categories. FC Famalicão plans to improve its facilities, including the creation of more technical offices and renovations in the changing rooms, adapting them for women's football as well. Additionally, interventions on synthetic pitches are planned, demonstrating the club's commitment to the quality of its infrastructure. FC Famalicão is also responsible for youth football up to the under-15 level, and has teams in futsal and women's football, including youth categories and a cycling team.
